Invisalign Provider Pembroke Pines FL

Invisalign is an increasingly popular alternative to traditional braces. When searching for an Invisalign provider in Pembroke Pines, FL it’s important to be comfortable with your choice. Additionally, your chosen orthodontist should be familiar and experienced with Invisalign and other alternative orthodontic choices.
Lucas Orthodontics is a certified Elite Invisalign provider, meaning he has been recognized by Invisalign as an experienced and preferred orthodontist for Invisalign treatment. In addition, to better serve his community Dr. Lucas is bilingual and can assist his Spanish speaking patients with fully understanding their treatment options.
The Process
During your appointment with your orthodontist he or she will have a series of digitals scans done of your teeth. These scans enable him to develop your treatment plan and allow him to have your clear aligners printed from SmartTrack material. Invisalign owns the patent to SmartTrack, meaning only their clear aligners use it for treatment.
Once the aligners, or trays, have been printed for your treatment, the orthodontist will trim them at the gum line for comfort. You’ll wear each set of trays for 2 weeks until your treatment is complete. Your treatment could take anywhere from 6-18 months in total. This will depend on how severe the misalignment of your teeth were at the start.
Benefits
One of the main benefits to Invisalign is the fact that it is not readily apparent one is wearing it at first glance. It’s clear appearance makes them unobtrusive. The wearer is less self-conscious and most casual observers won’t notice the aligners.
Invisalign aligners are also removable, so there aren’t any food restrictions due to fear of certain foods causing wires or brackets to break. Additionally, athletes or those who play contact sports won’t have to worry about cuts caused by wires and brackets.
Disadvantages
Because the aligners are removable, some patients may not wear them for the full length of time daily. Invisalign aligners should be worn for 22 hours a day. Failing to do so, may result in an increase in treatment length. Patients should also remember to brush their teeth regularly. The trails fail to allow saliva to protect teeth from bacterial growth. This could result in bad breath and dental disease.
Another disadvantage to clear aligners is that they might not work to correct more complex issues. Also, Invisalign, while increasingly affordable, is still more expensive than traditional braces. If you have monetary concerns you may want to discuss cheaper options with your orthodontist.
